Overview:
I’m a teacher who aims to inspire & educate in equal measure. I have a distinction in Grade 8 Bass Guitar & a 1st Class Music Degree in Bass Guitar. My versatility comes from my 10+ years real life experience in the music industry working with jazz ensembles, big bands, pop artists & rock bands both live & in the studio, as well as performing with some the UK's top function & tribute acts in the UK & Internationally. As a teacher I strive to give my students both the skills & the knowledge to play on their own, with other musicians and for grades if they so wish.

Experience:
Peripatetic music teacher, Reeds school — 2011-present. Seaford College 2018-present.
Disciplines: Bass Guitar, Double Bass, Electric & Acoustic Guitar, Music Production. I teach a range of students from ages 12-18, covering Rockschool or Trinity Grades to those interested as well as fretboard knowledge, time keeping, technique, sight reading, groove and improvising. I also help in preparing them for performances in school concerts. I also run several bands at the schools.

Private Music tutor — 2013-present
I teach Electric Bass, Double Bass & Guitar to a range of students from ages 12-40+, as well as live sound & music production. I teach Rockschool or Trinity Grades to those interested, as well as the aforementioned skills. One of my students recently joined the Kingston Youth Jazz Orchestra, and I have taken many to merits & distinctions and all grade levels.

Professional musician — 2010-present
Over the years I have played hundreds of events in bands of all shapes and sizes. I have toured the UK with US Artist Jenn Bostic (BBC Radio 2), have travelled to Italy, Dubai, China, the United States & Jamaica for international performances, and have performed around the UK from top to bottom. I have played at venues such as The O2, Royal Festival Hall, The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, The Tate Modern, Wembley Stadium, CarFest, Sonisphere Festival, The Natural History Museum, The Science Museum, The Gherkin & The Ritz. I have performed in dozens of small theatre shows as well as countless accompaniment roles for school concerts.
Bass player, guitarist, MD, Producer & mixer for Emma Stevens — 2015-present
Since starting to work with UK singer songwriter Emma Stevens, I performed on Terry Wogan’s Radio 2 Breakfast show as well as numerous other local BBC stations, supported Take That, Simply Red & Train as well as played to 50,000 at Chris Evans’s CarFest 2015. Since then I came on board as Emma’s producer & mixer most recently completely her 2021 album “Light Year”, available on all major streaming platforms.
